Golf Course Opens For Play May 17th

Thanks to Mother Nature delivering warm spring temperatures and a gentle winter, Superintendent Jeff Hegland and his crew have the golf course in excellent condition. Enjoy early season golf at Schaffer’s Mill before the summer visitors come to town.

In the December issue of GOLF Magazine, Travel Editor Joe Passov called Schaffer’s Mill “a playable, strategic mountainside gem.” A beautiful photo of our 12th hole accompanies the article. October is Member Preview Month

Schaffer’s Mill is a private facility by charter. However, as we grow our Club we are allowing a limited amount of Non-Member & Guest play, and in October we greatly reduce our Guest & Non-Member fees to allow those interested in learning more to come out and experience the course. Tee times may be arranged directly through the professional team in our Sports Shop by calling 530-582-6964.

This is also a great opportunity to reserve the current membership enrollment fees before they increase in the spring. If you choose this option, there are preferred access privileges through the rest of the season and no dues responsibility until next May. Luxury Cabin at Schaffer’s Mill

Schaffer’s Mill unveiled four new luxury cabins at an all-day celebration and evening party on Saturday, September 1. Plus, with every Mountain Lodge, Luxury Cabin and home site sold over Labor Day Weekend, Schaffer’s Mill included a state-of-the-art GEM/NEV Car with every purchase.

The four new luxury cabins at Schaffer’s Mill will be named The Cascade, The Tahoe, The Sierra and The Trailhead. These exceptionally crafted mountain homes will be available on 29 different sites, each with incredible golf course and mountain views. Offered in one and two-story designs, the luxury cabins range in size from 2,500 to more than 3,000 square feet.

Schaffer’s Mill, a 475-acre, 400-homesite gated community and private golf club located just east of Truckee was formerly known as Timilick Tahoe. Schaffer’s Mill, the 475-acre, 400-homesite gated community and private golf & lake club located just east of Truckee, continues its record-breaking summer with 8 new Mountain Lodge, 14 homesite and 12 new Club membership sales this summer.

“We’re excited by the sales pace at Schaffer’s Mill as well as by the confidence and eagerness the market is showing in our community,” said John Marlin, Managing Partner for Schaffer’s Mill. “It’s evident that our customers are recognizing the value of Schaffer’s Mill and the family-centric atmosphere we’ve fostered here.”

Of the recent Mountain Lodge and homesite sales, buyers are coming from San Francisco, Walnut Creek, Sacramento, San Diego and Danville, California as well as Park City, Utah and Dallas, Texas.

On Saturday, July 14th from 11AM to 1:30PM, Schaffer’s Mill will host a Membership & Community Open House. If you have been interested in learning more about the golf membership options or the homesites and mountain lodges, this is a great chance for you to come out, meet the team, and see the progress.

The event will be a very relaxed come-as-you-please atmosphere, and we will be hosting a tour of the new clubhouse site and also group and private real estate tours. Drinks and light appetizers will be hosted for all guests.

Schaffer’s Mill Free Family Golf Clinic A Hit

Schaffer’s Mill Golf & Lake Club hosted our 2nd Annual FREE Family Golf Clinic on Sunday, June 24th. More than 50 children and dozens of adults tested out the latest golf equipment, received one-on-one instruction in chipping, putting and driving and took part in fun bocce ball and bag toss tournaments. Despite windy conditions, all who attended had fun and even showed nice improvement in their golf games. Hats off to Director of Golf Clint Bassett, Golf Operations Manager Rob Bruce and Assistant Golf Professionals Eric Navarro and Jason Waters for their hard work and instruction.

New Community Entry Monument Debuts

A brand-spanking new Schaffer’s Mill entry monument was recently installed at the entrance to Schaffer’s Mill along Schaffer Mill Road. Made of rock, wood and steel, the beautiful new monument was designed by Truckee’s Ward Young Architects. Lighting will be added in the coming weeks and further landscaping will be finished around the monument. The monument is a welcome addition to the growing community.
